Storing, tracking, and recovering data from Business Central

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a very safe way to store and recover data – however, you can only restore your data back to a particular given time and this has the disadvantage of having to restore all or nothing. This means that if you accidentally delete or overwrite your data, it can be very hard to get back what you need and leave the rest of the data as is.

AL Code Tracker solves this issue by putting your data under source control where any changes are reflected on Git.

In the Data Tables page, you can set up which tables and fields you want to track:

 

For each Data Table, you can specify the fields you want to track:

 

And you can track the history of each table using the View Version History action, and then click View Files to view on Git:
